Smoke protection
Smoke protection is a complex of space-planning and engineering solutions, the main purpose of which is to prevent (in the event of fire) fumigation of escape routes from the premises and buildings. This reduces the probability of death during evacuation from the building, reduces fire damage, and makes the work of fire detection and fire suppression safer and more effective.

In function of space-planning solutions and number of storeys of the building, the smoke protection system can include the following:
- system of smoke removal from the premises and (or) corridors;
- system of smoke and gas removal after the fire;
- system of staircase smoke resistance;
- air overpressure system in elevator shafts, stairwells, elevators, stairwells and elevator lobbies.

Objective of the smoke protection is the smoke removal consisting of the exhaust of smoke accumulating near the ceiling of escape routes and its withdrawal outside of the building.

Special equipment is designed for this purpose
- Smoke exhaust fan (ventilation units designed for high temperature air mass)
- Space air overpressure systems; axial fans can be used for this purpose.
- Fire retarding valves.
- Smoke removal valve.
